Earlier this month CareerBuilder announced the release of its new Talent Discovery platform. This addition is aimed at decreasing the amount of time recruiters spend filling employment vacancies by combining all of the company’s products into one offering that integrates with existing applicant tracking software.

Talent Discovery instantly pairs existing open jobs with an employer’s private applicant pool and public databases, such as CareerBuilder’s own, which hosts over 150 million candidate profiles and 45 million resumes. The program was designed to be intuitive, analyzing both recruiter activity and that of job seekers to target applicants who have the highest likelihood of responding.

“CareerBuilder is focused on more than making recruiters efficient,” said Kyle Lagunas, research manager at IDC, in a recent press release. “They’re trying to help recruiters become more effective in an increasingly complex hiring climate. With their new Talent Discovery platform, CareerBuilder combines 20 years of search experience with the power of machine learning technology and predictive analytics to deliver modern capabilities that help recruiters get a step ahead.”

CB’s new offering still includes previous features such as its talent network solutions and background screening, but adds new features as well. Users are now able to use a single log-in to reach all CareerBuilder products via the ATS. They can access all email communications between job seekers and recruiters with the native email system, for example.

In addition, recruiters can create and customize multiple workflows enabling them to tailor criteria for multiple job vacancies. CareerBuilder’s ATS attempts to simplify the scheduling process by syncing with recruiters’ calendars. It then automatically sets up the interview after the job seeker chooses an available time.

CB’s Talent Discovery also provides recruiters with a variety of ready-made or customizable reports that present hiring data in a visual format. This can assist managers when it comes necessary to evaluate recruitment trends.

“On the surface, Talent Discovery is simplifying CareerBuilder’s products and aligning them in one all-in-one platform,” CareerBuilder’s senior vice president of product development Scott Helmes told People Matters, “and adding in the integration with your own ATS. But looking deeper, this platform is reducing the time it takes to source job candidates from hours or days to a matter of minutes.”

Talent Discovery also provides hiring managers with important real-time data about the labor market. This information can be used when determining the amount of time needed to fill a vacancy and to set recruitment budgets.

So far, reviews have been positive.

“This is a pretty robust addition to CB’s lineup of products, that actually simplifies everything under one roof,” said Tim Sackett in his blog review. “This makes a ton of sense for both CareerBuilder and its users. Bringing both your own ATS database and your public resume databases into one platform to be able to be nurtured in one workflow is just the way it should be.”

“For a company which started as a job board and has now successfully moved into recruitment technology solutions, CareerBuilder is definitely way ahead of its traditional competition like Monster and Naukri in this space,” added People Matters. “It has built a platform to help recruiter take all critical recruitment actions in one place, backed by its own 150 million strong candidate database, that’s an unmatched advantage in this space right now.”
